How we calculate the US number

  • Payroll taxes: of base (employer FICA 7.65% plus FUTA/SUTA)
  • Benefits: $/month employer health contribution
  • Software & equipment: $/month in seats, laptop and phone
  • Paid time off: of base, roughly 10 paid days

Not included on either side: recruiter fees, management time, or the cost of a seat sitting empty while you search. Those all favour the LatAm number further.
